Evidence for shell closure at superdeformed shape
Description
The low intensities of excited superdeformed (SD) bands in 152Dy are evidence of a shell closure at Z = 66 and N = 86. In the A = 150 region the excited SD bands are based on simple particle-hole excitations. It is proposed that most of the excited bands in 152Dy are of this type but also that one band is primarily based on a collective octupole vibration. (orig.)
