SKODA steam turbines for nuclear power plants with steam tapping for heating purposes

Description

The first 440-MW(e) pressurized water reactor was constructed in the SKODA Works according to Soviet documentation. Further 18 nuclear reactors of this type are under preparation. Moreover 24 220-MW wet steam turbines will be manufactured for nuclear power plants in the CSSR and the GDR. The design of these turbines is described. The original objective, i.e. condensing turbines with controlled tapping for district heating purposes, is not continued. Now fabrication is focused on 220- and 1000-MW condensing turbines for the production of high temperature hot water and for all operating conditions from pure condensation regime to maximum amount of extracted steam.
