Progress in the CW operation of a 140 GHz gyrotron

Description

Tests on a 140 GHz, whispering-gallery-mode gyrotron have resulted in short-pulse power levels of 820 kW and average power levels of 81 kW. Tests are currently underway on a new tube with the goal of achieving an ouput power of 400 kW CW. 1 ref
