Description

In this report, a study of the transcendent or tachyon plasma is commenced with the ultimate aim of determining the dispersion properties of such a system and comparing them with those of a plasma made up of conventional relativistic particles. Because of the intrinsic difficulties of working with tachyons, in this paper it is treated only the study of the relativistic equations of motion for a single, conducting tachyons fluid in a magnetic field. The dispersion relation for small-amplitude oscillations is found and compared with the corresponding result for a relativistic plasma of subluminal particles
