Alpha-cluster structure of 28Si
Description
The dα angular correlation functions have been measured in the process 24Mg(6Li,d) 28Si(α)24Mg at a 6Li ion energy of about 40 MeV. In the 28Si nucleus there is a group of levels which have an α-particle nature. These are the levels with the quantum numbers 6+, 7-, 8+, 9-, and 10+ which lie in the 28Si excitation energy interval from 18 to 30 MeV. They are grouped in a band of the rotational type, without any energy shift between the odd and even states. The results of the present work are compared with data on the α-cluster structure of other light nuclei
