Selected properties of metallic spin glasses

Description
A survey is given about the characterization of the spin glass state by means of selected results of macroscopic measuring methods at metallic 'classical' spin glasses. The low temperature behaviour of direct and alternating field susceptibilities measured in weak external fields are discussed including results of measurements in strong magnetic fields and irreversible phenomena occurring. Further on, results of magnetic susceptibility, magnetization and hysteresis measurements at a spin glass system based on rare earths and transition metals (amorphous Dy41Cu59) are reported
