Yield strength increase of textured polycrystals of nitrogen-containing austenitic stainless steel
- 1. Tomskij Gosudarstvennyj Univ., Tomsk (Russian Federation). Sibirskij Fiziko-Tekhnicheskij Inst.
Description
A study was made into the hardening of textured polycrystals of steel type Kh18N12M2 with nitrogen contents of 0 to 1.7 at.% and grain size of 30 and 30 μm. Strong dependence of grain-boundary hardening coefficient on nitrogen content was observed. The hardening of textured polycrystals with high concentration of low-energy grain boundaries is explained by the influence of grain boundary type on dislocation generation and dislocation structure. The increase of the share of texture constituent <113><112> is of secondary importance. 19 refs., 3 figs., 1 tab
