Oxide modified air electrode surface for high temperature electrochemical cells
Description
This patent describes an electrochemical cell. It comprises a porous cermet electrode and a porous lanthanum manganite electrode, with stabilized zirconia solid oxide electrolyte therebetween, where the lanthanum manganite electrode surface next to the electrolyte contains a porous, discontinuous layer of a material selected from the group consisting of cerium oxide, praseodymium oxide and mixtures thereof, and where the electrolyte contacts both the lanthanum manganite and the discontinuous oxide layer
