Choice of optimal orientation of one or two cylindrical gravitational antennas

Description

A discussion of the optimal orientation of a cylindrical resonant antenna (CRA) is presented for the detection of unpolarized gravitational radiation emitted from sources located in a preassigned region of the sky. The same problem is treated for two CRAs operating in coincidence by a qualitative procedure. In the last section the distribution and the characteristics of nearby galaxies are briefly analysed in view of the detection of g.w. incoming from them by a CRA. (author)
