Influence of interstitial impurities on low-temperature ductility of welded joints of molybdenum alloy

Description

To determine factors influcing low-temperature ductility of welded joints of Mo-C-Al-B system molybdenum alloy correlation analysis of relations between the welded joint ductility, mechanical properties and chemical composition of base metal is carried out. Ductility of molybdenum alloy welded joint is shown to be influenced by oxygen and carbon content in base metal. Optimal ratio between carbon/oxygen content in alloy is 2-4.5. To decrease embrittlement caused by noncompesated content of interstitial impurities it is recommended to use rational microalloying of weld metal during welding
