Magnetic and superconducting properties of dilute Cd alloys with Cr, Mn and Ni impurities
- 1. Chalmers Tekniska Hoegskola, Goeteborg (Sweden). Institutionen foer Fysik
Description
This paper reports on resistance, susceptibility and superconductivity measurements on dilute Cd-based alloys in which Cr, Mn and Ni are dissolved. The authors try to extract basic magnetic interaction parameters from the experimental results, which is possible only through the combination of magnetic and superconducting properties of the same alloys. Extremely high depression rates of the transition temperature are found for Cr and Mn whereas Ni acts as a non-magnetic impurity. Preliminary results of tunneling experiments in CdMn, which indicate a localized impurity band within the energy gap, are also given. (Auth.)
