Plasma power source device

Description

Purpose: To provide a highly efficient power source device capable of reducing the effects to the systems and capable of high speed current inversion. Constitution: The present invention concerns a great current supply device for a tokamak device for attaining thermonuclear critical plasma conditions, etc. For instance, load coils are connected to the outputs of two rectifiers connected in an inverse parallel connection to an AC power source for supplying forward and backward currents. The outputs and the load coils are connected by way of two capacitors connected in parallel through a diode and a switch comprising a diode and a thyristor connected in an inverse parallel. According to the present invention, since effects to the power source is reduced by storing energy to a capacitor previously charged with small current, and current is inverted not by a mechanical switch but by utilizing the resonance of the load coils and capacitors, high speed current inversion is enabled.
