Influence of magnetic fields on nonradial stellar oscillations
Description
A perturbation method is presented which allows us to determine the effect of a weak magnetic field on the linear and adiabatic nonradial oscillations of a star. The method has been applied to a model with uniform density pervaded by a magnetic field with both a poloidal and a toroidal component, and to a polytropic model with a magnetic field which is purely toroidal and has only a phi-component. 8 tables, 19 refs
