Evaluation of non-clinical PET tomography image quality

This work presents the results of image quality tests of a small animal PET tomograph in the last three years. The equipment is installed at the Molecular Imaging Laboratory of the Irradiation and Radiopharmaceutical Service of the CDTN/CNEN. Uniformity, recovery coefficient and spillover ratio parameters were evaluated according to the NEMA publication NU 4-2008, using a specific simulator in seventeen different experiments. The results indicate that the parameters are in accordance with values reported in literature for similar equipment. In addition, there was no significant variation in the parameters values during the evaluated period, which reveals the stability of the equipment performance. (author)
