Further results on the subject of tearing instability

Description

The first section of the report discusses dJ, the increment of J in an attempt to clarify and define dJ on both the fundamental and operational levels. The second section is the tearing instability analysis of a fully plastic center-cracked panel under tension. The third section is a more general tearing instability analysis of a center-cracked panel. In the fourth section a linear-piecewise power hardened material is considered. The fifth and final section explores the concept of tearing instability to assess the flaw growth in pressure vessels
