Spectroscopic studies of some lanthanide complexes

The paper deals with the synthesis and spectroscopic studies of some complexes of Ln(III), Pr(III), Nd(III), Sm(III), Ho(III) and Er(III) with substituted quinazolone, i.e. 3-amino-2-methyl-4-(phenyl hydrazone) quinazolone with particular emphasis on their electronic spectra. The comparison of the infrared spectrum of the free ligand in respect of that of the Ln(III) complexes reveals the mode of the co-ordination of the ligand which acts as bidentate monoanionic donor
