Experiments on amplification of soft x radiation of a current exploded wire plasma channel

  • 1. Gosudarstvennyj Komitet po Ispol'zovaniyu Atomnoj Ehnergii SSSR, Moscow. Inst. Atomnoj Ehnergii

Description

Results of experiments on amplification of soft X radiation (SXR) of a current exploded wire plasma channel are presented. The wire 1 cm long was placed between cathode and anode of accelerator output unit. Radiation was recorded along the wire axis and in perpendicular to it using vacuum photoemission detectors. For SXR oscillograms, recorded in the axial direction, the presence of a peak is characteristic. It is shown that the effect observed is explained by the phenomenon of supergeneration during recombination of multiply ionized atoms of plasma channel crown
