Twin structure and critical current if Y-123 fused ceramics

Description

Methods of poly- and monocrystals X-ray diffraction analyses are applied to investigate the structure of Y-123 superconducting ceramic plates produced by gradient crystallization. The angular dependence of critical current density obtained from measurements of magnetic moment in the temperature range of 40-90 K is under study as well. X-ray diffraction analysis of fused ceramics shows that its structure is heterogeneous and consists of Y-123 and Y-211 phases with Y-143 inclusions. The stresses resulted from the difference in thermal expansion of these phases are noted to have a great effect on structure formation, twinning included. The nature of magnetic moment angular dependence is revealed to be determined by structure features of the crystalline material

Abstract (Russian)

Методами поли- и монокристального рентгеновского анализа исследована структура пластин сверхпроводящей керамики Y-123, полученных градиентной перекристаллизацией. Изучена также угловая зависимость плотности кристаллического тока фрагментов блоков этого материала, полученная из измерений магнитного момента в интервале температур 40-90 К. Рентгенофазовый анализ плавленой керамики показал, что она имеет гетерогенную структуру, состояющую из фаз Y-123 и Y-211 с включениями фазы Y-143. На образование структуры, в том числе и двойниковой, оказывают большое влияние напряжения, возникающие из-за разницы в тепловом расширении фаз. Предложено объяснение характера угловой зависимости магнитного момента, которая определяется структурными особенностями кристаллического материала
