Nuclear effects and pperpendicular dependence of the suppression of J/ψ production

The production of J/ψ particles in high-energy collisions of hadrons and nuclei is analyzed in the additive quark model and in perturbative QCD. The distribution of J/ψ particles with respect to the transverse momentum in hadron-nucleus collisions is derived. The dependence of the suppression of J/ψ production on the transverse energy Eperpendicular of the hadron and on the transverse momentum pperpendicular of the J/ψ particles is discussed.
