Prediction of dryout in round tubes by multi-fluid model
Creators
- 1. Toshiba Corp., Kawasaki, Kanagawa (Japan)
Description
Conservation equations have been applied to liquid film, vapor and entrained liquid separately (multi-fluid model of annular two-phase flow) to predict dryout in vertical round tubes. An application method was proposed to predict dryout for short to very long boiling length cases. The model predicted dryout very well over a wide range of conditions for various heat flux distributions. The model is very general and is more accurate than algebraic, empirical correlations.
