Stability of the sun against nonradial thermal modes

Description

The stability of nonradial thermal modes has been reinvestigated for solar models computed with the latest input physics. We find that these models are quite stable in these modes, in agreement with the earlier, but simplified, results of Rosenbluth and Bahcall. (orig.)
