Description

In the framework of off-diagonal generalized vector-meson dominance the cross-section asymmetries to be expected in the 'large' ω region (ω > approximately 6) of deep-inelastic ep scattering are estimated. To arrive at definite predictions the author has to speculate on the energy dependence and absolute magnitude of unnatural parity exchange and helicity flip in elastic rho0p scattering. However, the parallel asymmetry, Δ(parallel), is only weakly dependent on the unnatural parity exchange SCHC forward Compton amplitude, so that the predictions made for this assymetry seem to be more reliable than those for the perpendicular asymmetry Δ(perpendicular). Also from an experimental standpoint the parallel asymmetry seems to be the more important one. Numerical results are given for three values of the electron lab energy, E=5, 15, 50 GeV, and for three values of the electron scattering angle, theta=100, 200, and 300. (Auth.)
