Survey of LWR fuel and burnable poison design improvements and their impacts on fuel management
Description
An overview is presented of potential effects on fuel management and economics of improved LWR fuel and burnable poison design feature currently being offered or under active development. Only those features which at this point are considered non-proprietary by the vendors are indicated. Many fuel design improvements are an outgrowth of the objective to improve the energy generation economics for the nuclear units. Burnable poison design improvements have evolved to best compliment fuel management approaches designed to meet the same objective
