Calculation of the force of diffusive friction between ions and neutrals in an isotopic-mixture plasma

The authors obtain expressions for the force of diffusive friction exerted by ions in the process of charge transfer to neutrals in isotopic mixtures. For the first time, the authors have taken into account collisions that are accompanied by simultaneous momentum transfer and charge transfer between ions and neutrals in such mixtures. They investigate the selectivity of the process of momentum transfer to neutrals of various types, and arrive at an estimate of the equilibrium coefficient for separation of an isotopic mixture in a constant-current gas discharge plasma
