Description

In 1990, the UN General Assembly entrusted the challenge of strengthening international cooperation and coordination of assistance to the victims of Chernobyl to the UN Secretariat. The UN Chernobyl Programme remains the only mechanism to effectively address persistent health, environmental, social and economic needs in a coordinated and comprehensive manner
