Radiosterilization of various medical supplies

Contaminating microflora was qualitatively and quantitatively evaluated in disposable plastic materials and in dressings. The highest level of contamination was found in hydrophilic gauze masks, and they were used for monitoring the inactivation effect of various inactivation doses up to 13 kGy. Parameters of inactivation curves were determined for strains which survived the applied radiation doses. It was demonstrated that the 13 kGy dose safeguards full sterility. (Ha)
