Major design features of HMIS architecture of advanced power reactor based on European regulatory requirements

  • 1. I and C Department, KEPCO-E and C, 2354 Yonggudaero, Giheung-gu, Yonggin-si, Gyeonggi-do, 446-713 (Korea, Republic of)

Description

The HMIS of advance power reactor fully adopts advanced digital I and C technology with enhanced safety and improved performance. The HMIS architecture encompasses the entire I and C systems and components necessary to implement the I and C functions important to safety. Control, monitoring, protection, accident mitigation functions, HMI functions, and data processing functions of the HMIS are allocated and implemented on four independent and diverse platforms. The HMIS design fulfills the requirements of single failure criterion, physical separation, and electrical isolation for the safety system. The design of the HMIS architecture meets the requirements of the functional independence between different platforms and the system separation between different safety classes (authors)
