Description
For the studies on the nuclear structure of very neutron-rich nuclei and the extra nuclear fields using a radioactive probe, it is needed to improve the overall efficiency of KUR-ISOL. Therefore, the characteristics of the N2-jet system have been studied. The beam intensities of fission products obtained by using the He-N2 mixed gas jet were improved 6-8 times stronger than those obtained by using the He-jet which has hitherto been used. Here, the characteristics of the N2-jet method at KUR-ISOL have been described and the studies done by using this method have been reviewed. (author)
