Determination of stress intensity factor in bending round plane specimens with fatigue cracks

Description
Fatigue cracking in the VT6 alloy smooth cylinder samples has been studied. Bending fatigue proved to result in semi-ellyptical cracks. A method for calculating the stress intensity factor by bending of a cylinder sample with a semi-ellyptical surface crack is suggested. The method has been experimentally shown to be good for relatively small cracks
