Radiation effects on plasma electron-spin-resonance (ESR) spectra of cancer patients

Description

In studies of blood plasma of cancer patients, the average magnitudes of several electron-spin-resonance peaks were seen to be significantly increased, apparently as the result of increased amounts of paramagnetic trace elements. Thirty patients studied during radiation therapy showed a trend back toward control levels, with the greatest response found in patients with squamous-cell carcinoma.
