The magnetic hyperfine field of yttrium in nickel

Description
The determination of the magnetic hyperfine field of Y in Ni by the method of time-differential observation of a perturbed angular correlation (DPAC) is reported. The only isomeric state in the Y isotopes that is well suitable for DPAC work is the 243 keV, 2- level in 86Y. The results indicate a negative hyperfine field for Y in Ni of -57(4) kOe. (B.R.H.)
