On the possibility of using synchrotron radiation for measuring the electron beam polarization in a storage ring
Description
The possibility of measuring the transverse polarization of electrons in a storage ring by detection of the spin-dependent contribution to the synchrotron radiation intensity is discussed. A Cherenkov counter is proposed as the detector. Numerical estimates are presented for electron energies of 5 and 70 GeV. (orig.)
