Description

When a bare track detector (CR-39) is used for measuring radon concentrations in the living environments, the value of conversion factor from track densities to radon concentrations varies largely with turbulence of the surrounding air due to change in deposition velocities of radon daughters. The authors developed a method which made it possible to subtract the number of tracks produced by radon daughters deposited on the detectors from the total number. Accuracy and convenience of this method were compared with those other methods using the Track Etch detectors (Terradex Corporation), activated charcoal detectors and others
