Description

Thirty patients, 30 to 75 years of age, were studied from 1982 to 1987 with the methods of conventional roentgenography and computed tomography. It was demonstrated that computed tomography extended and complemented the diagnostic information supplied by conventional roentgenography. This also allowed to elucidate the morphological pattern of metastases of aggressive tumors in the mammary gland. The incidence of metastases of breast cancer in different bones and bone segments was also determined. X-ray and computed tomographic examination and comparison between them allowed also to determine the degree of treatment efficiency and ways of its optimization. Computed-tomographic examination of patients with aggressive tumors of the mammary gland was an indinspensable method complementing and extending the range of conventional roentgenography
