Plasma in astrophysics
Description
Two examples in which plasma theory is essential to the understanding of astrophysical phenomena are presented: magnetic reconnection and the collisionless interaction between a population of energetic particles and a cooler gas or plasma, in particular the interaction between galactic cosmic rays and the interstellar medium.
