Optimization of the sequence of operations carried out during the replacement of fuel elements in 900MW PWR nuclear power plants
Description
Once a year, a third or a quarter of the 157 fuel element assemblies, found in the core of a 900 MW PWR type reactor, are replaced. The new configuration of the core requires the displacement or permutation of the fuel elements. Two possibilities of refueling are considered: the complete or partial replacement of the fuel elements. In the first case the fuel elements are removed into a pool in a special building, where all the operations are carried out. In the second case, the fuel manipulation operations are performed in the special building as well as in the reactor building. The complexity of the operations in the second case requires the application of an expert system containing a new programming approach. In the approach proposed the solution program is generated from its algorithm data
Abstract (French)
Chaque annee, 1/3 ou 1/4 des 157 assemblages de combustibles du coeur d'un reacteur REP 900 MW est renouvele. La nouvelle configuration du coeur oblige tous les assemblages a changer de place dans le coeur et dans la majorite des cas, de permuter leur grappe. On opere alors de deux manieres: dans le cas d'un dechargement-rechargement complet, tous les assemblages sont evacues dans le BK ou se feront toutes les manipulations de grappe; dans le deuxieme cas (dechargement-rechargement partiel), le traitement se fera simultanement dans le BR et le BK. L'ordonnancement de ce dernier type de rechargement est un probleme combinatoire complexe qui ne peut etre resolu par des methodes classiques de recherche operationnelle. Un premier prototype a ete realise sous la forme d'un systeme expert dont les regles de productions reproduisent implicitement les heuristiques de resolution de l'expert. Les problemes de maintenance d'un tel systeme nous ont conduit a envisager une approche ou le programme de resolution est genere a partir uniquement de la declaration d'un algorithme ecrit dans un langage de haut niveau. Cette approche allie, l'efficacite algorithmique classique (meme si l'algorithme contient des heuristiques) et la declarativite de l'algorithme considere simplement comme une donnee du systeme generateurAdditional details
