Influence of micelle-formation on phase separation in extraction systems
Creators
Description
The influence of micelle-formation on macrophase separation in the system: n-dodecance-HDEHP-Na2CO3(NH4OH) solution, has been investigated. By the method of surface tension measurement it is determined, that the value of critical concentration of concentration of HDEHP micelle-formation in 5% Na2CO3 solution is 2.5x10-4 mol/l; in solution of 1 mol/l NH4OH no formation of micellar phase at the studied concentrations of HDEHP less than 3.2x10-2 mol/l has been detected. It is ascertained that the formation of micellar phase results in a noticeable increase of the emulsion stratification rate; in the absence of micelle-formation the rate of microphase stratification decreases with a decrease in interphase tension in the system
