Rare earth ions selective sorption by KU-2 cation exchanger from complex salt composition solutions

Description

Sorbability of rare-earth elements (REE) ions from solutions of complex salt composition containing ions of sidium, calcium, aluminium, iron, and anions of fluorine, silicon, sulfate, phosphate, as well as different amounts of excess nitric scid has been studied. As a sorbent use was made of the fractions of a KU-2 cationite of different granulation and in a different salt form. Sorption of REE ions has been studied both under static and dynamic conditions. It turned out that the use of KU-2 cationite, preliminary saturated with calcium ions, leads to an intensive formation of precipitate in the system. Equilibrium distribution has been determined of REE ions between KU-2 and solutions of complex salt composition at different dilution and different excess acidity of nitric acid. It has been shown that selectivity of sorption of REE ions with KU-2 rises with increasing dilution of the initial solutions
