High-spin states in 70Ge
- 1. Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Oak Ridge, Tennessee 37830
Description
The high-spin states of 70Ge have been studied through observation of γ rays from the reactions 60Ni(12C,2p) and 65Cu(7Li,2n). Measurements were made of the γ-ray singles and γ-γ coincidence spectra, of the γ-ray angular distributions, of the Doppler broadening for γ-ray lines, and of the γ-γ angular correlations. Level energies, spins and parities, and γ-ray radiation admixtures were extracted. There is a strongly excited yrast band with the highest number observed being an 8+ state at 4433 keV. There is some evidence for a second even-parity band and for several odd-parity states with irregular level spacing
