Description
The irradiation of certain tumors presents a special problem in dose planning when the skin surface is irregular, then the usual treatment plan and isodose curve do not result in homogeneous irradiation of the tumor. And then the authors designed a new styrofoam scooping device to make a styrofoam block including a minified wax compensators which will correct for surface irregularities without sacrificing the skin sparing. The styrofoam block must be cut in the exact geometrical relations used for patient treatment. The procedure is easy, accurate, and reproducible and provides compensating which is individualized for each patients.
