Description
A nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH) rechargeable battery has been prepared using a La0.7Mg0.3Al0.3Mn0.4Co0.5Ni3.8 alloy as the negative electrode. The maximum discharge capacity of the La0.7Mg0.3Al0.3Mn0.4Co0.5Ni3.8 alloy has been determined (350 mAh/g). Using a high starting charging rate (2857 mAg-1) an efficiency of 49% has been achieved in the 4th cycle. The alloy and powders have been characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDX) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). (author)
