Selected requirements on the didactic content of simulation tasks of a training simulator system

Computerized training simulator system SPVS, developed to train nuclear power plant personnel, was designed as a partial simulator for power plant operators to train and gain cognitive functions and skills. Selection and preparation of so-called simulated problems which form the didactic content of personnel training using SPVS, were a part of the development of the system. Situations occurring in nuclear power plant operation were selected; these are presented to the trainee as solutions of simulated problems in a way that makes it possible for him to gain the necessary contact. By means of symbols used in parts of the ORION information system and in the operating documentation, a model was sought of the operating situation such as would stimulate as much as possible the operator's imagination. The subject of the simulated problems was chosen with regard not only to the technological aspects of nuclear power plant operation but also to didactic needs of theoretical operators' education. Due to this aspect, the simulated problems also cover, e.g., the time course of various physical and chemical processes and the time course of technological parameters of the plant's equipment during start-up, normal operation, shutdown, failures and accidents.
