Exclusive π0-meson electroproduction on deuterons near the threshold

Description

Differential cross sections for the ed→eπ0d process near the threshold (electron and π0-meson being detected) have been calculated in the impulse approximation. The amplitude of elementary en→eπ0N processes is presented as a sum of two contributions, namely, the contribution of the standard Born mechanism with a pseudoscalar version of the πN-interaction and the contribution calculated on the basis of the PCAC hypothesis and current algebra. The momentum transfer square varies in the range from 0.005 to 2 GeV2
