Orbit effects on the ECRH deposition profile in stellarator-devices
Creators

Description
Effects of ECR heated suprathermal electrons on power deposition profile are studied in low density and high temperature stellarator plasmas. Two complementary techniques have been considered for simplifying the gyro-averaged drift kinetic equation; Monte Carlo (MC) and bounce-averaged Fokker-Planck (FP) techniques. MC simulation can accurately describe the complex drift orbit in real space while the FP simulation can accurately describe the dynamics in velocity space. Results are compared with experimental measurements under different plasma parameter and magnetic field ripple. (author)
