The neutron counter with indium detector

Description

The new design of the neutron counter intended for neutron flux detection in special experimental conditions is described. The counter works at extremely short pulses of neutron fluxes in the presence of a high-level gamma-radiation background and electromagnetic field perturbation. The counter design combines the activation detector (49In), two GM beta-counters and the polyethylene moderator. The counter design is optimized for the maximum sensitivity for fast neutrons. The counter calibration with 252Cf source was carried out. The good agreement between the sensitivity calculation and test was obtained
