Test blanket program in ITER

Test Blanket Module (TBM) is the test equipment under ITER nuclear fusion environment to be used for testing of tritium breeder blanket toward DEMO fusion reactor, and is not an ITER procurement equipment. Japan as the leader of Water Cooled Ceramic Breeder (WCCB) TBM has signed TBM arrangement (TBMA) at Nov. 2014, and has started the activity of TBM program in accordance with ITER schedule. The conceptual design review for WCCB TBM systems has been implemented in Feb. 2015, and the subjects to be solved before the next design phase were pointed out. The subjects will be solved soon. If the conceptual design is approved, the design activity will transfer to the preliminary design phase. (author)
