Description

In this paper, the electrical resistance and the Hall coefficient is measured on polycrystalline samples of the Nd1+xBa2-xCu3O7-δ (NBCO) and Nd1-xPrxBa2Cu3O7-δ (NPBCO) systems. For both systems the carrier number n decreases with increasing x. However, the decrease of n becomes slightly above x ∼ 0.1 in the NPBCO system. Furthermore, n dependence of Tc in NPBCO is much stronger than in NBCO. These results suggest that the origin of decrease of Tc is not due to the hole filling by the Pr ions with more than +3 valence in contrast to the case of the NBCO system
