Description
Probability of recoilless emission of 35.5 keV γ-rays of 125m Te and Debye temperature θD for beryllium telluride were determined by measurement of Moessbauer γ-ray self-absorption in thick γ-source and by means of 'black' absorber. The mean value of θD from eight measurements with four samples of TeBe at three temperatures is equal to 209 ± 5 k. This value is significantly lower than the expected 400 k. The possible reasons for this disagreement are discussed. Control measurements with metallic Te and TeO2 gave the following values of θD: 138.6 ± 3.4 k for Te and 163 ± 5 k for TeO2. These values agree satisfactorily with data from other works. (authors)
