Application of electrolyte heating for thermal treatment of composite electrochemical coatings

Description

The effect of temperature-time parameters of electrolyte heating on the structure, phase composition and tribotechnical properties of composition electrochemical coatings (CEC) based on nickel with boron and boron carbides particles is considered. Acceleration of the diffusion process of the formation of a strengthening phase in CEC investigated during heating rate increase is shown to occur as a result of the preservation of high density of dislocations in the metallic matrix. Application of electrolyte heating for thermal treatment of boron-bearing CEC permits to decrease the temperature of diffusion annealing and to reduce considerably its longetivity, and in this case coating resistance to wear increases
