Foil equilibration measurement of carbon activity in sodium
Description
The experiment of 304 ss foil exposed to high is described temperature sodium at working temperature of fuel cladding materials for LMGBR is described. Microstructures are observed, phase distribution is measured and composition analysis before and after exposure to high temperature sodium is performed. According to carbon equilibrium equation reported in literature abroad, the carbon activity and the equilibrium concentration of carbon in sodium at 650 deg C are calculated. The effect of both heat treatment (temperature, time) and original carbon content on measurement of carbon activity are discussed and the experimental correlation is revised
